And that's that......

Thank you, dear friends, for all your work , your grace, your eloquence and your love for haiku's. I had fun doing this; I'm glad I took up the responsibility, because it has given me the catalyst to write again, something I had given up on. Heres looking towards Winter!!

No shadow

No stars

No moon

No care

November

It only believes

In a pile of dead leaves

And a moon

That’s the color of bone

November’s cold chain

Made of wet boots and rain

And shiny black ravens

On chimney smoke lanes

Freezing tent cocoon
Glows translucent in the mist;
Caterpillars gone.

Thick bramble bushes;
Last desiccated apple;
Crows cry in slate sky.

...
weekend afternoon
red leaves skip down the street
behind the kids

Last call.......

OK folks, this went a day longer than planned, thanks to a pinched nerve in my back that more or less incapacitated me yesterday and the day before, but by the end of the day, we will be in to full swing with Winter Haiku 2008/2009. So if you've got one last Autumn Haiku, todays the day to get it out!
crow's surreal morning -
watching the water
beneath the ice
first frost -
the postman's
crackling footsteps
Red apples hanging
from bare branches
the fallen ones -
Blackbirds take care of.
icy morning -
one more cup of coffee
before I leave

***

matin glacial -
un dernier café
avant de partir

[inspired by Bob Dylan's song : One More Cup of Coffee (Desire)]

Bare Trees - a final post

today the horizons
retreat into vague grey
bare branches

Dead Leaves - a final post

suddenly a limp and shrivelled fist of leaves

among the fallen apples

thinking of you
today, only today,
but no words-
leaves whisper my story
as they fall softly

Thanksgiving grace--
peeking to spy a young niece
peeking back

finishing all leftovers
to make room in fridge
